Food is great, it is so great. Food on Thanksgiving? Even greater.
I'm absolutely thrilled at how my family prepares our Thanksgiving dinner. No traditional turkey, or mashed potatoes, or yams, or even ham. Because the truth is we're just not about that stuff. As great as they are for everyone else or as traditional it is for everyone else. My family and I only moved to the US about seven years ago, and we never exactly grasped or gave in to the traditional concept of Thanksgiving. It's not that we refuse it, we just chose not to, because we're happier spending time with each other--and eating--this way. Yup, there it is.
Ugh, there is truly no eating like home.
